Louis Oosthuizen first ventured into the field of winemaking in 2009, lending his brand name, Louis57, to a hand-picked range of locally produced wines – all of which Louis personally tasted and selected. Each Louis57 Wine is outstanding in terms of balance and quality, enabling it to delight even the most selective of wine connoisseurs. Louis57 Wines are produced under license by Boschkloof Wines in Stellenbosch, that is owned by master winemakers, father-son duo, Jacques Borman and Reenen Borman.

The Farm – Boschkloof
Stellenbosch was founded by Commander Simon van der Stel in 1679 as a new settlement for the Dutch colonists of the Cape of Good Hope. This created a centre for the growth of a new community, and one in which from the beginning, wine was to form a major element. Free burgher farmers were released from their duties in the Dutch East India Company and along with new settlers began to work their own land. Previously the farm was known as Schuldpadvlei, later as Goedgelegen and now Boschkloof – the 25 hectares farmland is situated eight kilometres west of Stellenbosch in one of South Africa’s prime red wine producing regions. The boutique wine estate yields some of the best quality grapes in the region and in South Africa. With 35 accolades to date, Louis57 Wines offer an outstanding combination of character, nose and ageing potential.
The Wine Makers
Jacques Borman was the winemaker at the world-famous La Motte Wine Estate in Franschhoek for 25 years, after which he developed the Rupert & Rothschild international wine label. Today, Jacques and his son Reenen create world-class wines on their private estate. It is widely recognized that they are making some of the most exciting wines in South Africa at the moment. Reenen’s vision, combined with grapes sourced from unique vineyards, result in wines of great authenticity that reverberate a sense of place. This personal involvement with the soil and hands-on approach to viticulture produce timeless wines – these wines have achieved award-winning status in many categories since the range entered the market. We invited you to enjoy these special wines from one of South Africa’s leading family-owned estates, endorsed by one of the world’s top golfers.
